TINY BEPPU

Acrylic gouache on a canvas that fits in your palm. Being small, it gets finished in one sitting.

【What you make】
One mini canvas, roughly 15 x 10 cm. Let it dry and carry it home the same day.

【What you paint】
Cats, house plants, vases, Beppu scenery. Choose one motif from around 30 line drawings, so you never get stuck on what to paint. Trace, fill, layer — that is already a painting.

【Three steps】

• Choose a motif from the sample book. We keep worked examples for the tricky parts, like how to paint a cat's eyes.
• Lay the ground. Start from the background with a broad brush. Acrylic gouache is opaque, so anything can be painted over.
• Bring it up. Switch to a fine brush for outlines and expression, then sign and date it.

【How it runs】
A navigator leads the session. This is not a class in technique; it is two hours of soaking in Beppu with your hands busy. Assistants move between seats, so ask whenever you get stuck.

• Bring nothing. Paint can splash, so clothes you do not mind marking are a good idea.

【Coming with a child】
No blades are used — paint alone finishes the piece. Of our four sessions this is the easiest one to join with a young child. Please ask us before booking.

【No experience needed】
In our past participant surveys, every guest aged 20 and above chose "I enjoyed it even though I am not good at drawing."
